Democrats, Is the Abortion Fight in Health Insurance Reform Worth It?
Today, the U.S. Senate was scheduled to launch into the ever-so-entertaining health reform and abortion debate, but it was put off until Monday. According to USA Today , Democrats like Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin are working their tails off trying to find an abortion compromise behind the scenes, but still haven’t gotten there yet. It’s rumored that the Senate might introduce an amendment similar to one in the House that says insurance companies can’t cover an abortion for “any woman who receives a government subsidy to offset premium costs — even if only private money is used for the procedure.” But really, it’s all still up in the air.
